Founded by mechanical engineer John MacDonald, Xtrusion is a Kelowna-based studio that blends professional CAD expertise with accessible 3-D printing. From napkin sketches to functional prototypes, we help makers, students, and businesses bring ideas into reality—quickly, clearly, and cost-effectively.

Our Story

In 2024 John noticed a gap between great ideas and the technical know-how needed to model them for fabrication. With one reliable Prusa printer and a background in SOLIDWORKS and product visualisation, he started offering fair-priced printing and design help to friends and local makers. Word spread, and Xtrusion now offers two core services:

3-D Print Center — competitively priced, professional FDM printing (30 % below typical rates)
Custom Design Hub — browser-based CAD modelling for parts that need tweaking or creating from scratch
